Lovely vintage three stone diamond engagement ring set in platinum. A centre old cut diamond displays a beautiful pattern with a high crown and great chunky facets. Triple claws in the fishtail style secure this diamond and give the top a square appearance. Flanking the centre diamond are smaller single cut diamonds set into square settings. A shaped scroll sits at the base of the diamonds highlighting the shape of the knife edge band that completes this ring.
This is a wonderfully, classic, traditional late Art Deco to mid 20th century design, dating between 1930 - 1940s. The centre diamond is between an old European cut and a transitional cut with chunkier pavilion facets, small table and higher crown however it doesn't have an open culet.
Diamonds: 3. Centre old cut diamond is approx 4.6 mm and calculated as 0.40 carats, G / H colour, VS2 clarity. 2 side diamonds of approx 2.2 mm each to total 0.08 carats together. Diamonds assessed within the limits of the mounting.
Stamped 10% IRID PLAT, professionally tested and assessed as platinum. There is also a maker's mark for Baskin Bros, a New York based jeweller in the early to mid 20th century.
