Is there anything more classic than a brightly coloured gemstone framed by a halo of sparkling diamonds? We think not! A brilliantly royal blue coloured sapphire is bead set in the centre of eight diamonds. The diamonds are held in a pair of claws with a milgrain beaded edge around each individual diamond. The gemstones are set into a white top and shoulders with the base of the collet and band in gold. This engagement ring is a beauty which looks striking on the finger. Circa 1940s, British in origin.

In very good condition, some slight thinning to the back centre of the band from age related wearing. The interior has an engraved personal inscription reading, "HA - RK 19-8-42" making this ring over 80 years old.

Sapphire: round cut, vivid blue, measuring approx 4 mm and calculated as 0.35 carats within the limits of the mounting.

Diamonds: 8, old cuts measuring approx 2 mm each to total approx 0.25 carats, H / I colour, VS2 / SI1 clarity as calculated within the limits of the mounting.

Stamped 18ct, professionally tested and assessed as 18 carat gold.

Measures approx 9.2 mm across by 4.55 rise at top, 1.5 mm band at back centre.
