This is a lovely sapphire and diamond engagement ring dating to the late Art Deco to mid century. A dark blue round cut sapphire is prong set in platinum claws. Surrounding the sapphire are ten single cut diamonds, each set in claw prongs. The gemstones shine brightly from their platinum settings and the rich yellow gold band tapers as it reaches the cluster making the gem set top really pop! This is a classic circa 1940s engagement ring. British in origin.

Hallmarks are very worn and illegible. The majority of this ring is 18 carat yellow gold the claws are platinum.

Sapphire: dark, bright blue round cut, estimated in setting as 0.40 carats, 4.2 mm.

Diamonds: 10, approx 0.13 carats total weight.
