A beautiful vivid blue sapphire engagement ring with diamond halo. This vintage ring is prong set with square shaped step cut bright blue sapphire. Lining the edges are single or eight cut diamonds, each pave set to make a perfect little frame of sparkle. The corners of the diamond halo are slightly flared with the setting dipping between each diamond giving the top of this ring a scalloped edge. The gemstones are set low to the finger on a small pedestal which forms a pierced triangular design. The band on either side of the gemstones is very narrow, a design made highlight and focus on the sapphire and diamonds, and widens and thickens toward the back. Circa 1940s.

Sapphire: bright royal blue square step cut, approx 3.5 mm square and estimated in setting as 0.33 carats.

Diamonds: 12, single cut, estimated in setting as 0.16 carats total weight.

Not hallmarked, tested as 18 carat gold.

Measures 7.85 mm wide and rises 3.74 mm tall on the finger.
