Excellent men's coiled 9 carat gold snake ring dating to the Art Deco era. The snake coils twice around the finger with the head and tail curling to overlap the body. Inset into the head is an oval cut garnet and two diamonds for eyes.

The Victorians associated snakes with eternal love. Interest in snakes experienced a resurgence following Queen Victoria's lead who wore an emerald set snake during her engagement to Albert. This ring is later in date, circa 1920s, and is beautifully crafted.

Garnet: deep red oval cut, measures approx 5.2 mm by 4.1 mm.

Diamonds: 2, roughly cut.

Hallmarked for 9 carat gold, assayed in Chester, dated to 1926.

Size: UK - V; US - 10 3/8; EU - 20.3. Sizing available for an additional fee.

Measures approx 11.5 mm wide and rises 3.63 mm tall off the finger.

Weighs 4.45 grams.
