Vintage globus cruciger, or cross and orb, 9 carat rose gold charm. This vintage charm has a beaded design banded middle which is set with turquoise gemstones. The design carries up to the top and on the cross. This design is a symbol of Christianity which is also commonly used by monarchies through history. It is meant to represent the church on top of the world. The cross and orb can be seen on European monarchs crowns and sceptres, including the Danish Crown Regalia, Queen Elizabeth's sceptre and her coronation crown. Circa 1970s, British in origin.

Please note, blu tack was used to keep the orb upright in the first two photos. The bottom of this orb, simply says 9ct on it. Blu tack not included in sale!

Hallmarked for 9 carat gold, assayed in London, date letter for 1970.

Measures 3.44 cm / 1.35 inches long and 1.67 cm /0.66 inches wide. This pendant is on a modern 9 carat solid rose gold chain, please choose between 40.5 cm (16 inches) and 45.5 cm (18 inches).
