Large and lovely vintage amethyst single stone ring set in 9 carat yellow gold. Sometimes bold is best! This purple gemstone ring certainly is exactly that. The lighter purple amethyst is rectangle in shape and held in place with double claw prongs on each of the corners. The underside of the gallery is pierced out with simple arches. A slim and simple D shape profile band completes this piece. Circa 1960s, British in origin.

Amethyst: rectangular shape, light purple in colour. Approx 14.1 mm by 10.4 mm and calculated as 8.30 carats within the limits of the mounting.

Hallmarked for 9 carat gold, assayed in Birmingham, date letter for 1967.
