Beautiful vintage three stone diamond engagement ring. This platinum set ring is an absolutely lovely classic! Three diamonds, slightly graduated in size, are set low to the finger in simple collets. The round brilliant cut diamonds are wonderful and glittery, curving gently around the finger so they can sparkle and shine at several angles. The shank is made into a low domed profile and curves up gently to a point where it meets the diamonds. This vintage ring is perfect for the modern engagement! Circa 1940s, British in origin.
In very good condition. The interior has a personal inscription reading, "J.B.C. - D.R.W. 14-5-46".
Diamonds: 3, round brilliant cut. Centre is calculated as 4.65 mm, 0.31 carats, I / J colour, SI1 clarity. Side one is calculated as 4.25 mm, 0.29 carats, I / J colour, I1 clarity. Side two is calculated as 4.25 mm, 0.22 carats, I / J colour, SI1 clarity. Total calculated as 0.82 carats, all calculated within the limits of the mounting.
Hallmarked for platinum, this hallmark is later than the ring. It's not a requirement to have pre 1950s jewellery hallmarked but often it is still done for consumer protection.
Size: UK - Q.5; US - 8.5; EU - 18,5. This ring can be sized between L / 5.75 / 16,3 and T.5 / 10 / 19,7. The engraving and hallmarks are in the back centre of the band. If resizing we'd take or add metal to the side of this to avoid disruption of these markings if it's within 2 UK sizes (about 1 US size) of the current size. If a larger adjustment than that is required we'd probably need to disrupt some of the personal engraving to make the adjustment. Sizing available for an additional fee.
