Vintage diamond engagement ring. This pretty ring holds a single round brilliant cut diamond. The diamond sparkles delightfully from within it's buttercup style mounting, a true late Art Deco to mid 20th century design! The wider flared buttercup shape under the diamond is meant to throw light back at the viewer, a very clever design! A simple polished shank keeps all the focus on the diamond, treating it like the star of the show that it is. Circa 1930s - mid 1940s, British in origin.

The diamond is in excellent condition. There is thinning to the back of the shank and some wear to the side of the mounting where it was worn against another ring.

Diamond: round brilliant measuring approx 3.85 mm calculated as 0.23 carats, H / I colour, SI1 clarity within the limits of the mounting.

Markings have been lost due to a previous resizing larger. Professionally tested and assessed as 18 carat gold.

Size: UK - P.5; US - 8; EU - 18. This ring can be sized down to K / 5.25 / 15,8. Resizing larger would require a partial reshank, for this reason we'd recommend against it. Sizing available for an additional fee.

Measures approx 6.2 mm at widest point by 5.2 mm deep, band is 1.4 mm at back centre.
