These are wonderful swallow yellow gold and pearl swallow earrings dating the late Victorian period. 18 carat yellow gold swallows are pearl encrusted and are set so they are flying with their wings spread wide. The birds are beautifully detailed with the gold cut at sharp angles to give these swallows a more realistic look. These earrings date to around 1900s - 1910s.
Pearls: cultured, 16 total, in shades from a grey silver colour to creamy dark ivory.
Not hallmarked, tested as 18 carat gold. The ear wires are later replacement and also test as 18 carat gold.
Measure approx 2.5 cm / 1 inches long
Approx 1.5 cm / 0.6 inches wide.
Weigh 2 grams.
