Victorian sterling silver MIZPAH ring. MIZPAH is in bold, shiny silver gothic lettering against a darker, tarnished background. Mizpah means the Lord watch between me and thee, when we are absent one from another. The sentiment was popular during the Victorian era with rings and other items of jewellery exchanged between lovers. This ring is wider at the front with engraved details at the ends of the letters, and tapering at the back. Circa 1880s, British in origin.
Hallmarked for sterling silver, assayed in Birmingham, date letter for 1881.
