Chunky antique sterling silver chain dating to the Victorian era. A wide ridged chain is made from a connected double row of chain. Where these double rows connect are stylish round discs, each with a pierced design of a star in the centre. The flexible link is comfortable on, forming well to the neck and highlighting it's curves. This necklace secures with an oversized spring bolt clasp. The clasp can be worn to the back showing off the links of this chain, or to the front to display a large pendant or locket. Circa late 19th century, British in origin.
In good condition. There is a repair to one link, about 5 cm / 2 inches from the end, causing those two links to be fused together. This can only be seen from the back side and does not affect it's use and wear.
Not marked, professionally tested and assessed as sterling silver.
Measures approx 43 cm / 17 inches in wearable length by 11.7 mm wide.
Weighs 27.2 grams.
