Antique banded agate drop earrings dating to the mid Victorian era. These wonderful 19th century earrings are formed of a set of three round black agate with brown and white stripes running through them. The agate are stationary on the 9 carat gold wire running through them and are articulated at the top where the row of agates are attached to the ear wires. The beads can be spun on their wires allowing the wearer to chose how'd they'd like them facing out. Circa mid Victorian era, 1860s - 1880s.
Banded agate beads are approx 10.5 mm, 14.2 mm, and 18 mm. In overall good condition with minor age related abrasion.
Not marked, professionally tested and assessed as 9 carat gold, which is somewhat rosy in colour.
Measure approx 57 mm / 2.25 inches long by 18 mm / 0.70 inches wide at widest point.
Weighs 27.9 grams together, a bit under 14 grams each.
