Striking sapphire and diamond cluster stud earrings. A beautiful blue round cut sapphire is set in a halo of eight round brilliant cut diamonds. The sapphire is a lovely deep blue and set above the diamonds which have a claw on the very outside edge giving them a petal shape. At over 1 cm point to point these are large earrings with good presence on the ear. Circa 1980s, British in origin.
Sapphires: 2, round cut measuring 5.0 mm to 5.1 mm, calculated as 1.15 carat total within the limits of the mounting.
Diamonds: 16 total, round brilliant cuts. Approx 2.3 mm, 0.05 carats each to total 0.80 together, F / G colour, SI1 - I1 clarity as calculated within the limits of the mounting.
Hallmarked on the post for 18 carat gold, assayed in London 1981.
Measure approx 10.6 mm across.
Weigh 2.5 grams together, approx 1.2 - 1.3 grams each.
