SALE, was £275, now £220.
These are gorgeous Edwardian era carnelian drop earrings. Bright reddish-orange carnelian drops swing from an 18 carat yellow gold chain. At the top of the chain is a beautiful three-leaf clover design with a small silverly-white seed pearl set in the middle. The clovers are highly detailed with each little vein being apparently under magnification.
The carnelian is a bright, semi-transparent orange with a red hint. It has streaks reddish-brown going through it. Carnelian is a variety of chalcedony. Circa 1900-1915.
These earrings are not hallmarked but test as 18 carat gold.
They are 4 cm / 1.6 inches long from the top of the ear wire to the bottom of the drop.
Weigh 4.25 grams.
