The most delightful vintage snake bracelet! This snake sits coiled, ready to wrap around your wrist and go anywhere with you. It's head is beautifully engraved in a few contrasting patterns to give it a scaled look and fiery red rubies are inset for eyes. The body of this snake is a chunky oval shaped turbogas, or gas pipe, style link with wide deep ridges making it flexible. At the end is a gently curved tail with a few engraved scales giving away to a shiny pointed end. Circa 1960s, British in origin.

Hallmarked for 9ct gold, Birmingham 1964 with a maker's mark of Smith & Pepper Ltd. Smith & Pepper was founded around the mid 1930s and was in business about half a century. The interior has a steel spring (marked) which helps this snake to keep it's shape.

This snake is coiled and will expand quite a bit as it's gently pulled open to accommodate a wrist or upper arm. Shown on a 16.5 cm / 6.5 inch wrist.

Snake is approx 38 mm / 1.5 inches wide at widest point - head to tail - as shown when model is wearing it. The main body is approx 6.3 mm / 0.25 inches wide.
