Striking French made sapphire and diamond target ring dating to the Art Deco era. Set in a buttercup style in the centre of this setting is an old European cut diamond. Around the centre diamond are 10 calibre cut blue sapphire set with a yellow gold bezel to their outer edge. Framing the entire top is a scalloped edge design each set with a rose cut diamond in each of the eight scalloped shapes. The use of the two different gemstones and the contrast between the white of the platinum and the yellow gold makes this a stunning piece. Circa 1930s, French in origin.

Diamonds: centre old European cut with a known weight of 0.18 carats, J colour, VS clarity. 8 rose cut diamonds.

Sapphires: 10, bright royal blue and are approx 0.35 carats total weight. In overall good condition with some age appropriate wear visible under magnification.

Not hallmarked. The French hallmark on the outside of the shank. As you may imagine, with regular wear the hallmarks wear. We can see faint traces of where they used to be. Tested as 18 carat yellow gold with the gemstones set into a platinum top.
