Vintage opal ring with a halo of diamonds set in 18 carat gold. A large opal cabochon is claw set in the middle of 14 eight cut diamonds. The large white opal shows flashes of orange and green play of colour. The diamonds glitter around the opal and are bead set so that they are flat into the setting. The opal and diamonds are set into a white gold top on a band of yellow gold. Circa 1940s - 1960s, likely British in origin.

Opal: oval shape, cabochon cut, approx 9 mm by 7 mm. Shows flecks of orange and green play of colour.

Diamonds: 14, single cut, approx 0.17 carats total weight.
