Antique niello chain necklace dating to the late 19th century. Elongated shaped neillo links lie flat and lightly twisted in an oval curb style. In the centre of these links is a pretty flat section of double wires. These larger links are connected together with three smaller curb links. One end of this chain terminates in a medium sized niello spring bolt clasp and the other in an oversized neillo spring bolt clasp. Circa late 19th century, likely Continental European in origin.

Not marked, professionally tested and assessed as 800 silver. This chain is silver and the black sections are enamel with rose gold gilt on the other silver sections.

Measures approx 49.5 cm / 19.5 inches end to end, 5 mm width at chain. Large bolt ring is approx 21.4 mm external diameter, small bolt ring is approx 9.4 mm in external diameter.

Weighs 14 grams.
