Large golden yellow citrine pendant set in 9 carat gold. This massive emerald cut citrine is beautifully proportioned, a classic rectangle in shape with a ratio of 1:42. Wide ribbon claws keep with the angles of the gemstone and secure it on the sides. The basket shaped collet is straight making for a very angular and modern feel and keeps the focus on the hall of mirrors style faceting that makes emerald cuts so easy to get lost in.
This Victorian piece came to us as a broken brooch. We weren't able to fix the pin, the stone was simply too deeply set so the pressure pushed it out of shape, so we converted it to a necklace by adding the modern chain. We went with a heavy (it needed it!) chain with elongated links to make the style of the gemstone.
