Antique seal crafted in 15 carat gold. What a beauty! This is one of my favourites. A rectangular shaped carnelian is carved with large ship riding the waves. Around this scene is engraved "TELLE EST LA VIE", such is life. A heavily engraved top features scalloped shapes and is finished with an urn design handle. Circa early to mid 19th century.
In excellent condition with only the most minor signs of wear under magnification.
Not marked, professionally tested and assessed as 15 carat gold.
Measures approx 21 mm / 0.83 inches tall with the base measuring 14.8 mm / 0.58 inches by 13.1 mm / 0.52 inches.
Weighs 5.5 grams.
