Antique gold filled slide locket. What a unique piece! Circular in shape, this pendant slides open to reveal a triangular shape section. The front is incredibly ornate with a textured background with a leaf design on top and a beaded edge. Sets of green gold leafs and a single rose gold flower accent the front. The contrast is incredible making this a truly standout piece. The back of this locket is unadorned, smooth and tactile, with just a matching beaded edge.
The fixed top has a simple swirl design and the bail is a spring bolt clasp. It opens with a little hidden slide and is a good sized bail to allow for a wide chain. Circa late 19th century.
In very good condition. The centre section would have held a couple of plastic protectors for photographs at some point. They are lost to time.
Marked PAT PEND 1/20 12k GF. This pendant is gold filled, mostly yellow with accents in rose and green.
Measures approx 31.15 mm / 1.25 inches tall not including the bail by 25.45 mm / 1 inch wide and 4.9 mm / 0.20 inches deep. The spring bail is approx 8.7 mm external diameter, 5 mm internal diameter
