Edwardian toi et moi diamond engagement ring. This early 20th century ring is set with two larger old mine cut diamonds. The bezel set diamonds bypass each other with four eight cut diamonds set into the shoulders on each side of the larger diamonds. The diamonds are set low to the finger in a platinum top with the band of this ring in 18 carat yellow gold. Circa 1900s, British in origin.

This style of ring, called toi et moi, or you and me, was popular during the late 19th and early 20th century. The largest two diamonds are close together in characteristics and are meant to symbolise both people in the couple.

Diamonds: 10 total. 2 old mine cut diamonds are calculated in setting as 0.35 carats and 0.31 carats, H / I colour, VS2 / SI1 clarity. 8 eight cut / single cut diamonds total approx 0.15. Total carat weight of this ring, calculated as setting permits, is 0.81.
