Edwardian Platinum Diamond Engagement Ring, Old European Cut Diamond in Filigree Setting with Sapphire Accents, Circa 1910s.

Stunning platinum engagement ring dating to the Edwardian period. A slightly cushion shaped old European diamond is set in fishtail prongs. The first thing I notice about the diamond is the very steep crown. I just love the sparkle coming off of it! The play of sunlight on it makes it creates dazzling sparkles on nearby walls.
Rows of square cut sapphires create a swoopy design around the setting, encircling the diamond. This ring has the most wonderful floral filigree detail. Circa 1910s - 1920s.
Diamond: old European cut, approx 0.57 carat, approx 5.3 to 5.25 mm by 3.37 mm. I / J colour, VS1 clarity.
Side diamonds: 8 diamond total 0.010 carats together.
Sapphires: likely synthetic, 8, totalling approx 0.25 carats together.
The ring is platinum, die stuck, pierced filigree mounting, circa 1920. Not hallmarked, tested.
