Antique full hoop diamond wedding ring. Twenty glittering single cut diamonds are set all the way the exterior of a band to form a never ending circle. Each of the diamonds are set into four small claws with a line between each diamond making it so each diamond is set into it's own box. How very stylish! The sides of this diamond band are engraved with a repeating scroll style design. This would make an excellent ring to wear alone or with other rings to create a set. Circa 1920s.
In very good condition. This ring was originally a larger size and has been reduced by inserting a coordinating liner to the interior, reducing the internal circumference.
Diamonds: 20, single cut measuring approx 1.75 - 1.80 mm each to total approx 0.45 carats, G - I colour, VS2 - SI2 clarity as calculated within the limits the mounting.
Not marked. The original section of the full hoop tested as platinum and the inner liner tested as 18 carat gold. This makes sense as 18 carat gold has a lower melting point than platinum allowing it to be added without disruption.
Size: UK - L; US - 5.75; EU - 16,3. This ring has previously been resized down by adding a lining to the interior to decrease the internal circumference. This can be removed allowing it to be resized up to M / 6.25 / 16,7 without disruption to the pattern.
Measures approx 3 mm wide by 2.5 mm deep.
Weighs 3.8 grams.
