Stunning vintage platinum engagement ring set with old mine cut diamonds. The centre diamond is an antique old mine cut diamond dating to around the mid to late 1800s. This hand cut diamond is slightly irregular and off round owning to the cutting methods at the time. The two accent diamonds are both small fully cut old mine cut diamonds. The setting dates to a bit later, around the 1930s and is typically Art Deco in style. Flared fishtail style triple claw prongs secure the centre diamond and the smaller accent diamonds are bead set in a square shape design. The top of the shoulders are sculpted into a double triangle drop style design.
This ring is a bit different while still maintaining a very classic style. The stepped design of the setting is eye catching and the fishtail prongs are bold and beautiful. Delicate milgrain beading lines the edges of the accent diamonds. The diamonds are older than the setting and date to around the mid to late 1800s and the setting dates to the late Art Deco to early retro period.
