Amethyst stud 9 carat gold earrings. These are simple and classic, displaying large, colourful purple gemstone in traditional rex or crown mountings. Circa mid to late 20th century. Amethyst is the birthstone for February. The ancient Greeks believed amethyst to be an antidote to drunkenness, great for party season!
Amethyst: round cut, each measures approx 6.5 mm. Due to the setting, we cannot accurately measure the gemstone depth to calculate weight. These face up the same size as a 1.00 - 1.10 carat diamond.
Stamped 9ct on the scroll backs. Earring mountings and scroll backs professionally tested and assessed as 9 carat gold. The gold is yellow in colour.
Measure approx 7.2 mm wide.
Weigh 1.4 grams.
