Antique emerald and old European cut dating to the Belle Époque era (1880 - 1914). This is a wonderful ring! It's a hard to find, beautifully asymmetrical cluster ring set with a pear shaped emerald and old cut diamonds. The point of the emerald points into a chevron shaped band which is claw set with graduated old cut diamonds. Directly across from the emerald are three bezel set diamonds, graduated in size. The gemstones are set in platinum edges making this ring appear white face up, while the under side of the collets and the shank are gold.

This is an incredible piece which dates to around the turn of the turn of the 20th century, 1890s - 1910. It looks great on the finger either way, though I prefer it emerald on top. It's in very good condition with some noticeable and expected thinning to the shank.

Emerald: pear shaped, lighter green in colour with some visible inclusions as is common with emeralds. Measures approx 6.5 mm by 5.4 mm by 3.0 mm and calculated as 0.56 carats within the limits of the mounting.

Diamonds: 14 total, 13 are old European cut, 1 rose cut. Largest measures approx 3.45 mm, 0.17 carat. Side 1 measures approx 3 mm, 0.10 carat. Side 2 measures approx 3 mm, 0.12 carats. The other 11 range from 0.75 mm to 1.5 mm each and total 0.11 carats together. Calculated as 0.50 carats total, I / J colour, VS2 / SI1 clarity within the limits of the mounting.

Not marked, professionally tested and assessed as 18 carat gold with the top edges in platinum.

Size: UK - P.5; US - 8; EU - 18,2. This ring can be sized between N / 6.75 / 17,1 and S / 9.25 / 19,2. Sizing larger might require a partial reshank to thicken the shank. Sizing available for an additional fee.

Measures approx 16.2 mm wide by 5.3 mm deep, 1.2 mm band at back centre.

Weighs 4 grams.
