Incredible antique locket with an embossed mistletoe design. This lovely18ct gold piece is circular in shape and lightly domed with mistletoe across the front. The back side is unadorned. During the late Victorian & Edwardian eras, when this locket was made, mistletoe was used to symbolise romance. To the interior are two frames however there is no plastic coverings. There is a small slot to use a fingernail to ease this locket open and is closes with a nice firm click. Circa late 19th century to early 20th century.

In very good condition with very minor dents in keeping with age and use.

French eagle's head hallmark on the attached ring, professionally tested and assessed as 18 carat gold.

Measures approx 31.75 mm / 1.25 inches tall including attached ring but not including bail, by 29.5 mm / 1.15 inches wide
