Art Deco White Gold Engraved Wedding Ring. Dodecagon Faceted Wedding Band with Engraved Wheat Design Edges, Circa 1930s.
Add to WishlistI absolutely adore this ring! Fully hallmarked British pieces dating the Art Deco era are harder to find. Hallmarking laws at the time meant it wasn't necessary and jewellers often didn't have it done because of the extra expense. The full hallmarks combined with the unique shape and low profile making this an easy ring to pair with an engagement ring make it a wonderful piece!
This ring has been crafted as a dodecagon, a twelve sided shape. Between each flat side is a soft peak. The flat top slopes away slightly in a faceted style and the slopes have been engraved with a wheat pattern. The top and bottom edges are flat and the inside is slightly rounded in a court or comfort fit style. This ring has the wonderful structure and more ridged lines that were popular during the Art Deco era. Dated 1939, British in origin.
Hallmarked for 18 carat gold, London assay office, 1939.
