Art Deco sapphire and diamond ring. The square shape, step-cut blue sapphire is bezel set into a platinum top. Around the edges of the sapphire is milgrain beading with diamonds forming a halo at the top edge of this ring. The shoulders of this ring are wide and curve up to meet the gemstone set top. Circa 1920s - 1930s, British in origin.

Sapphire: square cut, medium blue in colour, measures approx 2.55 mm, 0.12 carats.

Diamonds: 8, roughly faceted rose cut diamonds.

Marked 18ct, tested as 18 carat gold with the gemstones set into a platinum top.

Size: UK - P 1/2; US - 8; EU - 18.1. This ring has been reshanked in the past; it can be sized down to L / 5.75 and is not recommend for sizing larger. Sizing available for an additional fee.

Measures 8.3 mm wide and rises 3.1 mm tall off the finger.

Weighs 2.4 grams.
