Stunning Art Deco diamond and sapphire dinner ring. I adore this love! The look and proportions are all just right. They certainly don't make them like they used to. Bezel set in the centre is a single diamond of approx 0.06 carats. Columns of platinum topped gold line the top of this ring. The outer columns are adorned with a beaded design which the centre ones are set with rose cut diamonds. Framing the entire design are very long, narrow baguette shaped sapphires. The sapphires are believed synthetic (cannot be tested without removing them from the setting) and are cut into a French cut style with the table at a 90degree angle to the girdle. Ornately engraved beaded design shoulders are each set with a single rose cut diamond. The face of this ring is platinum topped and the undercarriage and shank are 18 carat yellow gold. Circa 1920s.
Diamonds: centre is approx 0.06 carats, set into the top are 12 rose cut diamond ranging from 1.3 to 1.8 mm.
Sapphire: 14 baguette shaped, French cut, likely synthetic / man made in keeping with what was common at the time.
Faintly marked as 18K, tested as 18 carat gold with the top in platinum.
