A lovely sapphire and diamond Art Deco engagement ring.  Set in the middle of a flower style design is a deep blue square step cut sapphire.  The sapphire is rub over set into a platinum top and framed in a single row of milgrain beading.  A row of milgrain beading weaves around the top of the setting between the four diamonds set to the north, south, east and west of the sapphire.  A small faceted beaded design is set in each of the corners with a further faceted design accenting the sloping shoulders.  Circa 1920s - 1930s, British in origin.

Sapphire: medium blue square step cut.  Approx 3 mm square, estimated in setting as 0.20 carats.

Diamonds: 4, single cut, approx 0.04 carats total weight.

Hallmarked as 18ct Plat.  This ring is 18 carat yellow gold with the gemstones set into a platinum top.

Measures 8.3 mm wide on the finger and rises 4.03 mm tall.
