Vintage ruby and diamond engagement ring dating to the Art Deco era. A centre pinkish red coloured ruby is set at an angle, in a diamond shape, framed by a white gold bezel. Around the edges of the ruby is a frilly beaded engraved setting inset with a single diamond on each flat side of the ruby. The combination of a square shaped ruby in a round shaped top is unique and pretty. The gemstones are set into a white gold top and the band is yellow gold with a soft knife edge the entire circumference. Circa 1930s - mid 1940s, British in origin.
Ruby: pinky red, square step cut, approx 3.6 mm and estimated in setting as 0.25 carats.
Diamonds: 4, eight cut, approx 0.06 carats total weight.
Hallmarked as 18ct for 18 carat gold and tested as such.

Measures 9.5 mm wide and rises 5.1 mm tall off the finger.
