Antique 9 carat yellow gold tassel dating to the Victoria era. This charm is crafted in a rosy coloured gold with a dome shaped top. The top is decorated in a cannetille style work with fine wires forming trefoils and twisted ropes. The widest section of this tassel is faceted and that unique shape is what first appealed to us. At the bottom are six foxtail chains each with little balls on their ends. Five of these are flexible whereas one is stiff at the top, likely from a previous repair. These charms were worn on watch fobs and could also be worn as a pendant and on a charm bracelet. Circa mid to late Victorian era, British in origin.
Not hallmarked, professionally tested and assessed as 9 carat gold.
