Antique trombone style chain crafted in sterling silver. This chain is the perfect piece! At just under 15.5 inches it sits on top of the collar bones, at the base of the neck. Elongated trombone links alternate with a set of three rounded links in a very classic and easy to wear style. This chain would have originally been worn by a gentlemen, it's a style known as a double Albert, for displaying his pocket watch. It can, of course, be used for that, but is more commonly worn by women as a neck chain today. In the centre is a t-bar which can be worn to the front of the neck or it can be turned around and the two dog clips used to display pendants. Circa early 20th century, British in origin.
In very good condition. The dog clips are nice and springy as they should be.
Hallmarked for sterling silver on the t-bar and two dog clips which all have matching date letters for 1910. The elongated links also have lion passant stamp.
Measures 39 cm / 15.35 inches end to end, oblong links are approx 6 mm wide by 26.6 mm long.
Weighs 28.2 grams.
