Antique sterling silver curb link double Albert chain. This chain has a great link, a slightly elongated curb link. The link is more open due to it's design which allows the dog clip to be fitted into any of the links. Each end of the chain terminates at a dog clip clasp; they don't match but are a similar size. At the centre of the chain is a decorative t-bar. The length of this chain, just under 15 inches, means it's suitable for a smaller neck. It wears, on me, at about the suprasternal notch, but is also a great length to be worn as a double row bracelet. Circa early 20th century, British in origin.
In very good condition. The dog clips are not matching. One is faceted and swivels and the other is plain. They are of a very similar size and appear to be matching when viewed at the distance someone would normally view it. The lion stamps on the links are nice and clear.
T-bar is stamped S.S. for sterling silver. There are lion passant on the links, the British symbol for sterling. Professionally tested and assessed as sterling silver.
Measures approx 37.5 cm / 14.75 inches in length by 6 mm wide.
Weighs 30.2 grams.
