Pretty sapphire and diamond three stone ring. A deep blue cushion cut sapphire is set in a slender gold bezel. The sapphire is set lengthwise, slightly longer than it is wide, giving it more spread across the finger. Flanking the sapphire are old mine cut diamonds, bezel set in white to match their colour. The thin band makes it look like the gemstones are floating on the finger. This ring sits low to the finger making it easy to wear for the busy, active woman. Circa late 19th to early 20th century, British in origin.
In very good condition. The band may have been reshanked at some point, giving it plenty of life!
Sapphire: deep blue, cushion cut, approx 6 mm by 6.4 mm, calculated as 1.20 carats within the limits of the mounting. Slight facet wear in keeping with age and use.
Diamonds: 2, old mine cut, approx 2.6 mm each to total 0.15 carats, H / I colour, SI2 / I1 clarity as calculated within the limits of the mounting.
Not marked, professionally tested and assessed as 18 carat gold.
Size: UK - P.5; US - 8; EU - 18. This ring can be sized between M / 6.25 / 16,7 and S.5 / 9.5 / 19,2. Sizing available for an additional fee.
Measures approx 6.9 mm wide at sapphire by 3.95 mm deep, band 2.0 mm at back centre.
Weighs 2.3 grams.
