Stunning antique sapphire and diamond engagement ring. A wonderfully coloured oval cut blue sapphire is bezel set in a platinum top. Framing the sapphire is a halo of 12 glittering single cut diamonds. The shoulders are platinum topped and taper to a point at the gemstone set top and widen at the sides and back. Sapphires have long been a traditional stone for engagement and this one has such a good colour! It's a royal blue, bright in colour. This ring dates to the early 20th century, 1900 - 1920, British in origin.

In good condition. The facet edges of the sapphire are rubbed in keeping with regular wear. There is a slight flattening to one side of the underside of collet where it's been worn against another ring. The band is thick and it's been well cared for.
