Antique sapphire and diamond engagement ring. A brilliantly blue round cut sapphire is bezel set into a platinum top. Framing the sapphire is a 12 stone old cut diamond halo. Each of the diamonds is bead set with the scalloped edge of the ring's top dipping in and out around the diamonds. This is a classic ring, floral in style, with a simple yellow gold band. Circa 1890s - 1910s, British in origin.

Sapphire: round cut, medium royal blue in colour, approx 4.8 mm and calculated in setting as 0.40 carats.

Diamonds: 12, old mine cut, approx 0.03 - 0.035 carats each, approx 0.40 carats total diamond weight, I / J colour, SI1 - I1 clarity. A couple of the diamonds have surface reaching feathers or small nicks which are visible under magnification.

Marked 18ct. The gemstones are set into a platinum top and the rest of this ring is 18 carat yellow gold.

Size: UK - O 1/2; US - 7 1/2; EU - 17 1/2. This ring can be sized down to L.5 / 6 or made several sizes larger. Sizing available for an additional fee.

Measure 10 mm wide and rises 5.4 mm tall off the finger.
