Antique sapphire & rose cut diamond engagement ring. This is a pretty diamond cluster ring dating to the early 20th century. A round cut cornflower blue sapphire is framed by six rough cut diamonds. Rose cut is a type of old style cutting with the facets on the top and a flat bottom. Slightly smaller rose cut diamonds, three on each side, are set down the shoulders.
This ring is a larger finger size and the design makes it suitable for the larger finger size with the size and shape covering most of the top of the finger. This ring dates to around 1900 - 1920s and is British in origin.
Sapphire: round cut, cornflower flower in colour. Approx 0.15 carats, 3.1 mm.
Diamonds: 12, rose cut. Total approx 0.08 carats.
Hallmarked and tested as yellow gold and platinum. The diamonds are set in platinum and the undercarriage and shank are yellow gold.
Size: UK - Q; US - 8 1/4; EU - 57 1/2. This ring can be sized between sized down to O /7.25 or up several sizes. Sizing available for an additional fee.
Measures 7.9 mm wide and sits 3.3 mm tall.
