Elegant rose cut diamond drop earrings. Three rose cut diamonds are set in white claws in a buttercup style setting. The multiple claws, with fleur-de-lis design to their side, and wider scalloped edge width at the base makes the diamonds appear larger. The largest diamond is articulated allowing to sway gently as it's worn. The top two diamonds are fixed to the drop and are the same size as each other with each set in the same style as the larger bottom diamond.
These earrings have a slightly curved ear wire and the hinged back comes up to secure it. The hinged section sticks above the ear wire allowing it to be more easily grasped. Circa late 19th to very early 20th century, 1870s to 1910. These earrings are crafted like French jewellery from that era, however I'm not able to find a marking on them.
Diamonds: 6 total, 3 in each earring. Smallest 4 are approx 2.6 mm each and the largest 2 are approx 5.1 mm by 4.1 mm. The weight of rose cut diamonds is notoriously difficult to accurately calculate while they are set, please see measurements for size. Diamonds appear near colourless, around H / I colour, with some inclusions visible upon close inspection through not at normal viewing distance, around I1 clarity, as estimated within the limits of the mounting.
Not marked, professionally tested and assessed as 18 carat gold.
Measure approx 22.6 mm / 0.90 inches in length by 7.35 mm in width.
Weigh 4.2 gram together, approx 2.1 grams each.
