Antique silver bracelet with a repoussé Romanesque design. We've never seen anything like this! A wide and heavy silver bracelet has a deep repoussé design of Roman warriors or gladiators on chariots being chased by lions. The design goes all the way around. This detailed bracelet is engraved with a repeating square design to the top and bottom edges. Behind the Roman scene is a waved background and details such as the lion's and horse's face and little tufts of grass. This bangle bracelet closes with a tongue in groove style clasp and has an attached safety chain. Likely Continental European in origin, circa late 19th century.

Stamped 800 on the clasp, tested and assessed as silver.

Measures approx 18 cm / 7.1 inches internal diameter and is slightly oval in shape. Approx 2 cm / 0.78 inches wide.
