Antique pinchbeck long guard chain. This chain is created with long marquise shaped links featuring wire work joined together with a smaller double ended faceted link. Both ends of the chain connect to a dog clip with a nice strong spring. It's long enough to wear doubled. The dog clip appears to be a replacement and is slightly different in colour. Dates to the late Victorian era, circa 1880s - 1900s, likely European in origin.
