Antique opal and diamond ring dating to the Art Nouveau era. A beautiful cabochon cut opal is bezel set in platinum. The opal has a bluish body colour and displays flashes of green play of colour. Around the edges are four roughly cut diamonds set into a scalloped edge frame. Between each diamond is a beaded design with a single row of milgrain beading weaving around the top. Set into each shoulder is a single diamond with the platinum top around it ornately engraved. The gemstones are set in a platinum top on a narrow 18 carat yellow gold band. Circa 1910s - 1920s, British in origin.
Opal: measures approx 6.9 mm by 5.2 mm.
Diamonds: 6, roughly cut diamonds.
