Beautiful blue enamel and 15 carat gold locket dating to the Edwardian period. The front of this locket features a beautiful light blue guilloché enamel. The back is open with a removable golden frame to allow the photograph or memento to be easily seen and changed. In the centre of the enamel front is a small inset seed pearl and another pearl drops from the bottom edge of this locket. The trace chain is 15 carat gold with a pearl inset. The inset pearl falls about to the hallow of the throat.
This locket will be sent in what is thought to be it's original box. The box is blue paper covered with a soft velveteen and silk interior and shows age appropriate wear. Circa 1900s.
Seed pearls: 3, creamy white in colour and approx 2.3 - 2.7 mm each.
Not hallmarked, tested as 15 carat gold. The chain, clasp, and locket are all 15 carat gold. The frame of the locket which removes to allow a photograph to be added, is metal topped in 15 carat gold.
The covering for the photograph is plastic.
Locket measures 2.8 cm across and can hold a 1.8 cm circular photo or memento.
Chain measures 39.5 cm / 15.5 inches plus drop.
Drop, as measured from the pearl in the chain to the bottom is 6 cm / 2.35 inches.
Weighs approx 9.45 grams.
