Sweet antique paste drop earrings. These earrings are simply wonderful! Crafted in silver with 9 carat gold closed backs, each earring is set with five black dot paste. The two pear shapes at the bottom, of approx 5.8 mm by 3.6 mm, are splayed apart in a winged design. Where these meet is a cluster of three old cut round pastes, of approx 2.3 - 2.3 mm each. The collets which hold these stones are a great cut down, Georgian style design, and circa late Georgian mid 1830s -1850s.

These are in good condition. They look to be a conversion with the stones and their settings dating to the mid 18th century and the hooks being more modern. Stones are clear and bright. One pear cut has a small chip to it's point, noticeable under magnification.

Not marked, the collets and hooks are tested as sterling silver. The closed backs tested as 9 carat gold.

Measure approx 21.3 mm / 0.85 inches long by 12.5 mm / 0.50 inches wide.

Weigh 2.5 grams together, approx 1.2 grams to 1.3 grams each.
