Antique diamond cluster flower pendant. I just love this glitter ball of a cluster! The diamonds, all antique cuts, are beyond sparkly. To the centre is a largest old European cut diamond bead set in several little claws. Another six old cut diamonds, four of which are old European and two of which are old cushion cut, are a bit smaller in size and tilted outward at a slight angle so they catch the light perfectly. A delicate row of milgrain beading outlines the edge of the whole flower.
In very good condition. The diamonds date to the last quarter of the 19th century to very early 20th century. The mounting is about a generation later.
Diamonds: 7, mixed old European cut and old cushion cut. Centre diamond of approx 3.6 mm, 0.16 carats. 6 surrounding vary in size and shape, measuring between 2.75 mm, 0.09 carats, and 3.25 mm, 0.13 carats. Total 0.80 carats, I / J colour, SI2 / I1 clarity as calculated within the limits of the mounting.
Not stamped, professionally tested and assessed as 18 carat gold, the very top edge is white and the rest is yellow.
Measures approx 12.85 mm / 0.50 inches tall not including the bail by 10.35 mm / 0.40 inches wide.
Weighs 1.4 grams.
This piece can be added to a new 9 carat yellow gold chain if required, as shown on model. Please choose the length you require at checkout. If you'd perfer the same chain but in white gold, please just make a note at checkout.
