Antique diamond cluster ring in a floral shape. This flower style diamond engagement ring is set with a central eight cut diamond with an additional six diamonds forming a halo around it. The centre diamond is bezel set with the other diamond bead set into a platinum top. Every diamond is lined in perfect, delicate milgrain beading. I love milgrain because it provides a beautiful, subtle sparkle. This style of engagement ring was popular at the beginning of the 20th century and this example has been crafted in 18 carat yellow gold and platinum. The inside retains marks for the marker, Henry Griffith & Son. Circa 1900s, British in origin.
Diamonds: 7, eight / single cut, estimated in setting as 0.14 carats total weight.
Marked 18ct PLAT. This ring is mostly 18 carat yellow gold with the diamonds set into a platinum top.
