Lovely antique seed pearl crescent moon pendant. This double row pendant is just incredible! Tapered in design, the wider middle section features a double row of seed pearls. The exterior row is larger and is stylishly scallop edged. The contrast of the scalloped outer edge and the soft curve of the moon is gorgeous. At the end of the seed pearl row is a delicate set of beads, tapering right to the point. Circa late 19th century, 1880s, British in origin.

In very good condition, some light scratches to the back where it's been unsympathetically tested previously. These are visible to the unaided eye, however they are on the back on the inside so cannot be seen when worn. Mentioned for accuracy.

Seed pearls: 40, soft white to light silvery grey in colour, measuring approx 1.1 mm to 2.4 mm.

Not marked, professionally tested and assessed as 18 carat gold, which is yellow in colour.

Measures approx 25.95 mm / 1.1 inches tall without bail by 24.2 mm / 0.95 inches wide as it hangs. Weighs 3.9 grams.
